“If I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint.” - Edward Hopper
Painting is a way of processing emotions for me that sometimes I have difficulty expressing verbally.
I think that these pieces were very cathartic for me and a way to ‘let go’.
I’ve never really done abstracts before and I used a lot of watery acrylic paint which was difficult to ‘control’ and the process forced me to really paint intuitively and from a deep place of trust.
Both pieces measure - 30.5 x 40.5 mm.
They are painted with an acrylic pouring paint technique but with the addition of quite a bit of water. There’s watery dreaminess in there alongside pockets of intense chaos.
It’s a process which I’m loving and which is a real blend of control and chaos. Watching the paints bleed and blend into one another is very fulfilling.

Both are signed on the back.
I like the two paintings side by side, they both seem to talk to me and one another.
