Buying Original Art for Your Home: A Feature in Country Homes and Interiors Magazine

Country Living Magazine and BlueprintsIf you’re looking for ways to bring more character and soul into your home, original artwork can transform a space in a way that few other elements can. I was recently honoured to have my work featured in the May edition of Country Homes & Interiors magazine, in an article about how to choose and display art in your home.

Written by interiors expert Ali Heath, the article highlights thoughtful ways to live with art and includes a curated list of favourite online artists’ accounts—and I’m thrilled that Quiet Thunder Art was included.

For a contemporary British artist like myself, whose work is rooted in memory, emotion, and a deep connection to the natural world, this recognition feels deeply meaningful.

Why Art Has Always Mattered to Me

This feature prompted me to reflect on where it all began.

One of my earliest memories is of my mum setting up a little collapsible table in our front room, just for me. She placed a box of Crayola crayons and a pencil on it, and that simple gesture opened up a world I’ve never stopped exploring.

From childhood drawings to the mixed media paintings I create today, making art has always been more than a practice—it’s been a way of being. It’s how I process, how I escape, and how I connect. That little table was pivotal in me becoming the creative I am today.

Art for Interiors: Making a Home Feel Like You

The feature in Country Homes & Interiors centres around something I care deeply about: choosing artwork not just as decoration, but as a form of expression. Whether you live in a minimal space or a layered, character-filled home, the right artwork can ground a room, start conversations, or simply make you feel something.

If you’re looking to buy original art for your home, I invite you to explore my current collection. My work is often described as calming, evocative, and quietly powerful—designed to bring a sense of stillness and depth to modern interiors.
